Who Is Kenneth465?
Just a little dribble here on who I am and what I collect and why this web site is here. I am a collector from the great state of New Hampshire and have been collecting with all members of my family for the past decade or so through the mail, in person, and purchasing through auction, or from an occasional dealer or two.
What began as a pursuit for an autograph of a race car driver or two at the New Hampshire International Speedway has become a pursuit that has taken us to many states, many shows, and we have met many wonderful people along the way. It is truly a wonderful hobby that I can share with my family and friends, display at my place of business, share with my customers and talk almost with anyone about the pursuit, the successes and fun of finally getting one I have chased for a long period of time.
On the autographed items on my pages here you will see inscriptions to Debbie who is my wonderful and beautiful wife, to Kenny my son who has traveled to an incredible amount of shows and met an unbelievable amount of sports celebrities with me. Melissa would be my daughter and you will see her name on many Olympic autographs and Janice would be my mother in law yet on many others. Any other inscriptions would be purchases I have made.
Although inscribed to others I have written all the letters, and used all the members of my family as recipients of the autographs because I believe that the letter is the key to through the mail collecting and it is an art form all by itself. I believe that each type of celebrity, male, female, Olympian, wrestler, astronaut, etc will react differently to a different type of letter from a different type of individual and the key to success is to know which letter type and individual type to send that letter out.
As I go live with this website on May 1,2006 I have mailed 25,000 requests over the years and a success rate of 67%. Unfortunately this is on the decline over the last four years as it was at 70% at one time.
Over the next several months we will be posting up to 14,000 items on this site of the 24,000 autographs we now have.
My key to the hobby is having a good time. Keeping it with the family. And sharing the good times and the successes with the several good folks I have come to know on line over the past decade.
